Activision have revealed that the First Strike map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be out on PC by the end of March. Activision have also set up a new company devoted to creating new DLC for Call of Duty. Read on for details and the First Strike trailer.

Gaming magazine gameinformer, recently had the chance to sit down and talk to DICE’s Karl-Magnus Troedsson, General Manager at DICE, about the company’s approach to creating the long-awaited sequel to Battlefield 2. If you PC gamers do not know by now, DICE has decided that the PC platform will be the lead platform for Battlefield 3! Yup, no console port with this game!

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has revealed the existence of ‘Beachhead’, a new internal studio and digital platform geared specifically around its Call of Duty franchise.
Few details are available as yet, but the division is “focused solely on the development of an innovative new platform and services for Call of Duty.”
Game Informer’s cover story on Battlefield 3 reveals DICE’s plans to support dedicated servers, and delves into some of the particulars of its multiplayer offering. Once again, you’ll be able to select between four classes — executive producer Patrick Bach calls this number “the sweet spot” — and Bad Company 2‘s four-person squad mechanic will be expanded, though no specifics are given. “Squads are really easy to set up, but how can you take that further? We have some really cool things that we’ll show later when it comes to dictating how you play with friends,” Bach teases.
DICE says it’s “learnt its lesson” following Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s sparse DLC schedule – and it won’t make the same mistakes with just-announced Battlefield 3.
Speaking in the latest issue of US retail mag Game Informer, DICE exec producer Patrick Bach acknowledged that not releasing a new map pack for six months saw the Bad Company 2 community drop off drastically.
Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.
The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.
