New Computer - Need Help Speccing

Postby Blacksand » Sun Jun 27, 2010 12:10 am

I need some help putting together some components for a new computer.

My budget is around £1200-1400.

I will create a half-assed spec when I look around some websites tomorrow. If you can help.. I'd be very helpful :)

Black.. add a 120mhz monitor to your build and use your old monitor as the secondary one :)

Acer has got good reviews http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =MO-049-AC

Ok here goes:

Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro = £50
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache Socket 775 + New heat sink = £70
4GB of Crosshair DDR2 800MHz = £30
Razer Lachesis = £20

Total = £170

Not sure if you would want this setup or if you are looking to go and get something a bit better but this is open for anyone interested.

Looks slightly similar to my current set up, maybe a bit better. Really don't know what I'm doing yet, sorting out money!
